High Fashion Classics Part One

Midsummer Dream Two

(Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, A Midsummer’s Night Dream, The Great Gatsby)

I’m really excited to start posting about this project! For the last few weeks, I’ve been taking fashion portrait and magazine style photos of various classic books, trying to show the themes and symbolism through a still image. I’ve had some wonderful people model for me, and it’s been so much fun to shoot, if a lot of work and a little bit of chaos.

Model: Aidan – Instagram

Aidan was so much fun to shoot with! She was so comfortable in front of the camera, I barely had to direct her to pose, she just instinctively knew what to do. We had a lot of fun shooting the pictures and I have a lot of laughing shots of her in between our serious ones!

Model: Michaela

Michaela was also super lovely to work with. As soon as she said she’d help me out, I knew I wanted to do The Great Gatsby with her. I think she brought exactly what the book needed to the pictures. And, she was a champ about my very misbehaved cat, who kept attacking the backdrop and scaring the life out of everyone. The books are authentic old books, albeit from a bit after Gatsby’s time.

I’ll be posting more book shoots soon, but thank you to these lovely girls for being such great models! I hope they like the pictures as much as I do. 🙂
